How to Watch ILT20 in the UAE — Cricket’s Best-Value Month

Official organiser pages currently list different opening dates (21 and 22 November). Check the final match schedule before planning.

The UAE’s own T20 league

ILT20 runs from 21/22 November to 20 December 2026 (the opening date differs between organiser pages; check the final schedule), with matches played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. It is the UAE’s own franchise T20 competition, and over its short life it has built a genuine following among the cricket-loving population here — a group that is, in this country, very large.

The appeal is straightforward. International cricket is scattered: an away tour here, a World Cup there, often in timezones that make watching a chore. ILT20 is a concentrated month of cricket that happens in your own country, in your own timezone, at a reasonable hour.

Why it is the easiest cricket to watch here

This is the one competition on the cricket calendar with no timezone problem at all. Matches are played in the UAE, so they are scheduled for UAE evenings — after work, after dinner, and finishing at an hour that does not ruin the following day.

Compare that with the alternatives. An Australia tour means early mornings. A Caribbean series means late nights. A tournament in England runs through your working day. ILT20 sits exactly where you want it, which is a large part of why it has taken hold so quickly.

A month of nightly cricket

The full fixture list and the confirmed start times are published by the league ahead of the season. Schedules shift a little once television picks its match of the day, so treat any list from months out as provisional.

  • Roughly a month long, from 21/22 November to 20 December 2026 (the opening date differs between organiser pages; check the final schedule).
  • Hosted across three UAE grounds — Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
  • Nightly fixtures in the main weeks, in prime-time UAE evening slots.
  • Fixed start times mean you can plan an evening around it.

Getting the cricket without the hassle

Cricket viewers in the UAE tend to hit one of two problems. Either their package carries the big international series but not franchise leagues, or it carries everything and costs accordingly. A subscription that includes all the sport, rather than one slice of it, is what avoids both.

It is worth being clear about what you need: the sport is spread across several channels, and a subscription that covers football but omits cricket will disappoint you in December.

  • Check cricket coverage explicitly before subscribing — do not assume it is bundled with sport generally.
  • Look for a subscription that covers cricket, football and F1 on one plan rather than three.
  • Test the stream on an ordinary match night before the tournament starts.
